Each of these coaches featured has won a NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship during their career.
*Richardson in 1994 with the Arkansas Razorbacks,

Nolan Richardson:
He was the head coach at Tulsa from 1981 to 1985, leading Tulsa to the NIT championship in 1981. Inducted into the TU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006.

Tubby Smith:
From 1991 to 1995, Smith led the Golden Hurricane to a 79-43 record. Rebuilding the basketball program his first two years, he then led the team to two consecutive Missouri Valley Conference regular season titles and two appearances in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament in 1994 and 1995. Smith's 1994 Tulsa team upset UCLA in the tourney's first round before knocking off Oklahoma State. In '95, the Hurricanes defeated Big Ten team Illinois to open March Madness.
Bill Self:
Spent three seasons (1998 to 2000) at TU, compiling a 74–27 record. While at TU, he coached the Hurricane to two NCAA tournament appearances in 1999 and 2000. In 2000, TU went 32–5, setting a school single-season record for victories, as well as the Golden Hurricane’s first-ever Elite Eight appearance.
